So two days ago, I lost my job. Or you could say I gave my job away by not achieving the desired results and realizing that my skill set did not match the career. Needless to say, it was a very difficult day. After getting past thoughts of failure and having a 2 minute(I promise) pity party, I strapped up my proverbial boots and I headed into the world not knowing what to expect. But something that I did expect happened. I expected my friends to hear about it and I expected my heart to gain more healing just by them contacting me. And you know what, they did call and the did care, they did love on me, and my heart did get stronger. What impressed me was not their “how you doin, bud?” or “wanna talk?” But what stood out was their “what can I do for you attitude.” And you know what? I should be used to this by now. Our faith community is pretty bonkers when it comes to loving God and loving people. There are no boundaries in their abilities to show a real Christ-like faith to the world through their actions. So Matt, Hofert, Shauggy, and Miller, THANKS!
The picture below is from a golf tournament that Daniel McCollum, Scott Miller, Scott Hofert and myself played in. Daniel and I were rocking our Matt O’Neil and Matt Shaughnessy shirts, respectively.
